The BlackBug is a hybrid lure designed for pike fishing, but also effective with all the other large freshwater predators. A lure that is well suited to countless fishing situations: perfect for hunting pike over big weed beds or on the deeper drop off, but also for those fish that live pelagic around large school of baitfish.
The head is made by natural material with unique characteristics that cannot be imitated by any other synthetic material. The softness and length of the fibers, combined with the particular mounting process, gives the bait that typical floating and pulsating appearance that makes it irresistible to the eyes of any predators.
BKK RIG
The Blackbug is fully rigged with BKK components: trebles, split rings and stainless steel swivel. The main feature of the rig is the shaped stainless steel wire, designed by BlackBay® for BKK®.

USE
The BlackBug is perfect for straight retrieve thanks to the concentrated and off-centered weight that guarantee a perfect balance. The weight position allows also to make a more erratic and unique retrieve, typical of the BlackBug.
The BlackBug can easily keep the desired depth always with his perfect balance. This unique feature makes it the perfect lure for pelagic pike fishing.
Our suggestion is to use it with a regular straight retrieve, but you can try also to play with the tip of the rod to animate your BlackBug with small pulls.
BLACKTAIL
There are 7 different models of BlackTails. Each tail allows to quickly change the color, action, volume and sinking rate of the BlackBug.
The quick interchangeable system of the tails makes the BlackBug a chameleon lure, able to adapt itself to many different fishing situations.

This BlackTail allows to maintain a slim and tapered profile of our BlackBug. The Curly tail, doesn’t produce much friction during the retrieve, and is particularly suitable for fishing in the lower layers of the water column. This tail, thanks to its sinuous action, produces very low vibrations and is able to stimulate the senses of the hunting predator.

The twin curly tail produces more resistance during the retrieve, allowing to keep the BlackBug in the higher layers of the water column, ideal for fishing over weed beds. The fat body and the position of the twin tails give to the Blackbug a more voluminous and compact appearance. This particular double tail produce a large number of low frequency vibrations. All these characteristics guarantee a greater stimulation for every predator.

The large size and profile of this paddle tail produce a very aggressive and pronounced action. This BlackTail also manages to tranfer its action to the head of the BlackBug, making it more wobbling and attractive. The shape of the body, with a triangular section wider on the sides, produces more volume effect for the predator. This is especially crucial for pikes, whereas they usually attack their prey from below. This BlackTail produce also a high number of vibrations that strongly stimulate an aggressive reaction.

This innovative BlackTail design, produced in a single size, is able to quickly transform the BlackBug into a big bait. The main tail with a large profile has an extremely sinuous and eel-like movement, able to move perfectly even with super slow retrieve. The second and smaller tail, produces additional vibrations at different frequencies, adding the BlackbBug a larger volume effect.

FLOATER
The Floater is a simple accessory designed to help your BlackBug sink slowly.
The use is very easy: you just have to place one Floater between the BlackBug’s head and the BlackTail.
Thanks to this small accessory the BlackBug became very effective in shallow water fishing with super slow retrieve.
BKK BB TRIGGER LEAD
The BB Trigger Lead is a quick replacement weight system designed by BlackBay® for BKK®.
The BlackBug is rigged with a BKK® component able to hold the BB Trigger Lead. You can choose from 5 different weights to quickly adjust the sinking rate of the BlackBug.
TIPS &
MAINTENANCE
To give the BlackBug a longer life we highly recommend a special care.
Keeping the lure wet for a long time in a closed box can irreversibly deteriorate the natural fur of the head.
After each fishing session, we recommend to hang the BlackBug in a dry place with the head facing upwards. This allows to perfectly dry the fur head and makes the BlackBug ready for his next adventure!
